When do I need an X-ray or other imaging test?

X-rays and other imaging studies can help your doctor investigate your symptoms, evaluate an injury, or take a closer look at an area of concern. What happens after my imaging test?

After you have your X-ray or other imaging study at the outside facility, an imaging specialist reviews the images and sends a report to Houston Internal Medicine Associates PA. Dr. Reddy reviews the findings along with your symptoms, examination, and medical history.

If the imaging identifies something that needs additional attention, Dr. Reddy can explain what the findings mean and discuss your next steps. Depending on the results, you may need additional testing, treatment, monitoring, or a referral to another specialist.
